DNA Partners I L.P. (“DNA Partners”) is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the management of Cerco Cable to acquire the business from its current owner. Cerco Cable, founded in 1978, is a leading distributor of low-voltage and specialty cables across the Canadian market.
After owning and successfully growing Cerco Cable for 21 years, Mr. Daniel Gauthier, majority owner and CEO, has decided to retire, pass on the leadership to the executive team which he has groomed over the past few years, and to sell a controlling interest in the Company to DNA Partners, a growth private equity group, based in Montreal, focussed on investing and assisting Quebec based companies. This transaction is a strategic move to bring in additional resources and expertise to accelerate the growth and profitability of Cerco Cable.
As part of the transaction, Mr. Jean-Sébastien Nicol, currently General Manager at the Company, will be stepping up as the new CEO of Cerco Cable and will continue to be one of the shareholders of the company.
A leader in its own niche
Since 1978, Cerco Cable has been THE Canadian reference for low voltage and specialty wire and cabling solutions. The Company’s primary focus is to provide their customers with products specifically qualified and certified for the Canadian market. Cerco Cable’s primary areas of expertise cover building controls (HVAC), security, fire alarm, communications, OEM and two-hour fire rated cables. Their clients are leaders at servicing industrial, commercial, institutional and mass transit projects.
